Client Companion
The Polymer Suite Client Companion is an optional client-side mod that enhances the experience for players willing to install it. While the entire PolyPack suite works on vanilla clients, the companion provides quality-of-life upgrades.
Recipe Viewer Integration
Section titled “Recipe Viewer Integration”The companion adds plugins for popular recipe viewer mods:
- JEI (Just Enough Items) — all PolyPack recipes appear in JEI’s lookup
- REI (Roughly Enough Items) — full REI integration with categories
- EMI (EMI) — EMI recipe tree support
With the companion installed, players can look up any Digital Chest, PolyTech, PolyMagic, or other mod recipe directly in their preferred recipe viewer.
Digital Chest Enhancements
Section titled “Digital Chest Enhancements”The companion upgrades the Digital Chest terminal experience:
- Faster search — client-side filtering for instant results
- Tooltip previews — richer item tooltips with storage counts
- Keyboard shortcuts — quick deposit, sort, and search hotkeys
Dynamic Compatibility
Section titled “Dynamic Compatibility”The companion auto-detects which PolyPack mods are installed on the server and only loads relevant features. If a server runs Digital Chests but not PolyMagic, only Digital Chest enhancements activate.
Installation
Section titled “Installation”Drop the companion JAR into the client’s mods/ folder alongside Fabric Loader. It’s entirely optional — servers never require it, and vanilla clients work perfectly without it.
