PolyTech

PolyTech adds an energy-driven industrial system to Minecraft. Generate power, wire machines together with cables, and automate processing — all server-side via Polymer.

Energy System

Energy is measured in Power Units (PU). Machines consume PU per operation, generators produce PU per tick, and cables carry PU at rates determined by their voltage tier.

Exceeding a cable’s voltage capacity will burn it out — plan your grid carefully.

Start with a Generator and some LV cables. The Generator burns any furnace fuel to produce 10 PU/tick — enough to power your first machines.

Generator

The Generator is your entry-level power source. Feed it coal, planks, or any furnace fuel and it outputs 10 PU/tick. It has an internal buffer of 4,000 PU.

Machines

Macerator

The Macerator grinds ores into dust, yielding 2× output when you smelt dusts back into ingots. Costs 8 PU per operation.

Compressor

The Compressor compresses materials into denser forms. 9 ingots → 1 compressed block. Useful for advanced machine recipes. Costs 12 PU per operation.

Electric Furnace

The Electric Furnace smelts items using energy instead of fuel. Costs 4 PU per operation and runs about 50% faster than a vanilla furnace.

Digital Crafter

The Digital Crafter is an automated crafting machine. Set a recipe pattern and supply items — it repeats the craft at 64 PU per craft. Pairs well with Quantum Hoppers or pipes for fully automated production lines.

Cables

Cables transfer energy using BFS (breadth-first search) grid routing. Energy flows from generators/batteries to machines along the shortest available path.

Connect cables by placing them adjacent to each other. They auto-connect to any compatible machine or generator face.

Machine Configuration

Every machine has six configurable faces (top, bottom, north, south, east, west). Each face can be set to one of four modes:

NORMAL	Default — no special behavior
INPUT	Accepts items from pipes/hoppers
OUTPUT	Pushes processed items out
DISABLED	Blocks all interaction on that face

Sneak-click with an empty hand to cycle modes, or use the face config GUI.

Wireless Energy

PolyTech supports wireless energy transfer across 16 color channels (one per dye color). Place a Wireless Transmitter on a generator and a Wireless Receiver on a machine, dye both the same color, and energy flows without cables.

Wireless transfer has no range limit within the same dimension but incurs a 10% efficiency loss.

Solar Panel

The Solar Panel generates power passively during daytime. Output varies:

Clear day: 8 PU/tick
Rain: 2 PU/tick
Night: 0 PU/tick

Requires direct sky access (no blocks above).

Battery Box

The Battery Box stores up to 40,000 PU and acts as a buffer between intermittent generation (like solar) and constant demand. It accepts input on any face and outputs to machines on any adjacent face.
